Susan Brunstrum is Founder, Principal and Chief Inspiration Officer of award-winning Sweet Peas Design, which she launched in 2003 as a one-woman firm in Libertyville, IL. Today, Sweet Peas Design is a full-service studio with a talented and dynamic staff of six in Chicago. Clients embrace Susan’s versatile LivableLuxe™ style - a confident blend of relaxed elegance and comfortable refinement. She considers it “the little black dress of interior design”™ – custom tailored for each client and perfect no matter what the occasion. Susan was a founding board member and is a current member of The Design Trust Ltd. She is allied with ASID, is a member of Chicago’s River North Design District and a Career Advisory Committee member for Harper College’s Interior Design program. Susan is a monthly guest on Business First AM with Angela Miles, and she has been featured on NBC/LXTV’s “Open House” and “George to the Rescue,” FOX32 Chicago, WLS-AM 890, WGN-Channel 9 and numerous design podcasts. Her work has been published in national and local media, including Men’s Book, Modern Luxury Interiors Chicago, Crain’s Chicago Business, NS, and Trends Kitchens and Trends Bathrooms. Among their awards, Susan and her team have earned ASID-Illinois “Design Excellence Awards” in 2017, 2016 and 2015 as well as “Best Bathroom 2016” and “Best Living Space 2014” from Modern Luxury Interiors Chicago and two regional Chrysalis Awards, 2015 and 2016. She also has participated three times in the prestigious Lake Forest Show House. On a personal note: Susan has two grown children and lives in Chicago where she explores the dining scene, art galleries and boutiques. She is a life-long fashionista who loves gathering fresh design inspiration during her travels.
